Wow! Just when you thought you had seen the last of the Griswolds, you find the're at it again. Anthony Michael Hall seems like the obvious candidate however that seems like a stretch cause of the "whats he done lately" way of thinking. Of course Chevy will be in the film to some capacity. To me, if it's done well I don't see any reason not to do the film.

Living in Thailand. I just finish my villa in Hua Hin and search some inspiration for my villa

It will be probably be The Rock.

Out of all the "Vacations" my favorite was the Christmas one. I would love to see Clark Griswold a grandfather and all the kids come "home" for the holidays.

Chase and D'Angelo run a bed and breakfast that is taken over by dumb terrorists, Rusty is a Navy Seal under the command of Captain Cousin Eddie, but that's all over with in the first ten minutes of the movie, and they all atke a road trip together where Christy Brinkley once again shows up alongside the RV in a limo, with Paris Hilton driving, and they side swipe the pursuing terrorists, sending them off to a final firey grave. A trip to Denny's follows, and they are served by an irritated waitress played by Chris Rock in ugly drag, and all hell breaks out as the other Denny's patrons are annoyed by cousin Eddie's screaming as the metal plate in his head picks up Fox News programs and Cal Worthington commercials.

After this, of course, they logically go to the Long Beach Aquarium and later watch the space shuttle land at Edwards Air force Base. (But that's so obvious...)

Oh, and Etc.

It could be great with Michael Anthony Hall as the father, and having to bring Chevy Chase, and Beverly De'Angelo along for the ride. What a great car trip this could be.

New Line Cinema is planning a semi-sequel to the 1983 comedy classic National Lampoon’s Vacation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The updated comedy will focus on Clark Griswold’s now-grown son, Rusty.

In the episode, the gang gets ready for finals, as well as the winter break, while Abed crosses paths with the school’s resident bully (Michael Hall), while Jeff (Joel McHale) decides to get involved to protect his friend.

Hey it is great that New Line is going on a "Vacation." Really good. I think newline must be fantastic.I want to see this. Thanks for the information.

There should be a Vacation with Chevy Chase & his wife taking a family trip as the kids that are grown-up in their 20's, that during the movie it moves into a transition of the kids meeting who they will marry to a immediate sequal of Vacation Wedding where all the families are united for a major wedding, where Clark gives his marriage advice & sex advice in his father to son talk and attempt to father to daughter talk and his planning of the over the top wedding Griswald style that could top Christmas Vacation, then transitions into Vacation Honeymoon the Griswald Children embark on their Honeymoon that Clark paid for as a gift in a special deal package where the kids are not happy about it, but do not want to hurt his feelings and the deal package turns out to be a time share swindle sale vacation and in the package he won a third honeymoon for free, but has to be for a newlywed couple, so Clark decides they should have a renewing of thier wedding vowels which turns into Clark & his wife going on the honeymoon trip also and towards the end of the movie it moves into them being told that both of his kids are expecting & he is becoming a Grandfather where a Vacation can be made with them as the all knowing Griswall Grand Parents. Then the movie transitioning into Rusty, his wife, and kids visiting the Grandparents, but smoothly the transition of accepting them as the Vacation Series by the public and will be successfully carried on to the next generation. Vegas Vacation could have been great, but it was a flop in losing the Clark factor and seperating several different stories instead of keeping the real story of one father who is all about family with humility, pride and ignorance lost in time while not seeing the family his has changing and Clark needs to revive the Vacation Heritage to make the public accept the transition.

I don't see what the big deal is. The original was no Citizen Kane, and it's not like they're butchering a classic.

Excellent post.Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so.

The bulk of the story is a flashback to Clark & Ellen courtship in college, their wedding, and their wild honeymoon in Acapulco in the 1970s.
